Our Story

“What started as a love for food became a way to bring our community together.”

Meet Allison and Vasili, the husband and wife duo behind Three Pigs and Lucky Cat.

With nearly 20 years of restaurant experience across Southern California, Allison and Vasili have spent their careers on different sides of hospitality — Allison in front of house and Vasili as chef in the kitchen. After years of driving outside of Long Beach to find Japanese food beyond sushi and ramen, they realized they wanted to bring those flavors back home and create something for their own community.

Three Pigs started as a way to share the food they love through pop-ups and catering, combining Japanese flavors and techniques with California’s seasonal ingredients to create dishes that feel familiar, but with a little something unexpected.

For Allison and Vasili, hospitality has always been about more than just the food. It’s about creating moments people remember — a dish that sparks curiosity, a gathering that brings people together, or an experience that makes you want to come back.

Through Three Pigs and Lucky Cat, they’re continuing to explore the intersection of Japanese-inspired cooking, local ingredients, and the community that inspired it all.
